Antalya Archaeological Museum is considered to be one of the best museums in Turkey. Visiting there really is like taking a step back in time and the amount of extremely well preserved artifacts is astonishing.
Antalya Museum consists of open air galleries and garden where many sculptures and other artifacts are exhibited and 14 exhibition halls on totally 30.000m2 area. An important part of Lykia, Pamphylia and Pisidia, 3 antique cultural region of Antalya, is under responsibility of Antalya Museum.
Atatürk Museum, is the house when had been used by Atatürk during his visits to Antalya. The press clippings, photos, image gallery, barkovision room, dining and living rooms, bedrooms, offices, coins and rags since the establisment of Turkish Republic, stamps, souvenirs are the objects of the museum.
The most important part of the museum is the room where Atatürk’s private belongings are exhibited which was brought from Antkabir.
Another museum of interest to visit is the Suna-Inan Kirac Museum set in an old ottoman fishing house and located in the Kaleici. It holds local life in the ancient Kaleici and artifacts from Anatolian culture.
